Quilts

My approach to quilting is often meandering and slow and rarely starts with a clear plan. I enjoy exploring color, texture, and unconventional materials such as buttons, stretch fabrics, and alternative methods such as woven fabric strips, machine cutting, and quilts with negative space. A number of my quilts come in families as I reuse and repurpose scraps from a previous project to make something new, such as the blue and brown series below. Some of my quilts--including the spiral series below--use fabrics that I've hand printed or dyed. A few are created collaboratively with beginner sewers or are from my first ventures into sewing when I was young.
