Iotoji (in progress)

with Claudia Chen and Patricia Lu; special thanks to Don Blair

Iotoji is a device that lets people send messages to one another using physical and image-based representations. It creates alternative low fidelity routes of communication outside of the cell and wifi networks we've grown to rely on.

Iotoji lets people send messages to others by pressing physical light-up buttons with emoji stickers. Messages are communicated via radio and played back to others in the group with matching devices. Iotoji explores alternative ways of communicating and the creativity that can come from minimizing options.

Iotoji is intended for use in select circumstances, such as in dorms or at concerts or other large events where communication options may be limited.
