Since a fellow Peace Corps volunteer introduced me to slacklining in 2006, I've spent many summer evenings slacklining in the park. As well as the physical challenge, I enjoy the mental discipline it requires--frustration only leads to falling and new tricks can be scary. These circus-like activities often attract curious bystanders and I've helped kids, Frisbee players, skateboarders, and hesitant fathers learn to walk on the line. I also taught a slacklining workshop at the 2011 Boston Skillshare and participate in the Boston slackliners Meet-up group.
