After years of sports training in childhood, I began dancing after moving to Boston. I started salsa with Boston Rueda and Rumba y Timbal for over 6 years and performed with them at events in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maryland, Maine, Rhode Island, and Florida. I've also co-taught student performance teams as well as beginner and advanced-beginner salsa and rueda classes. After coming to MIT, I joined the MIT ballroom dance team. I also social dancing in many styles including west coast swing, bachata, and standard ballroom.
Recently, I've been working with Victoria Palacin, Rosalie Norris, and Rahul Bhargava to explore ways to use dance to interact with data and understand it in new ways. You can read about our early investigations here.
